HIGHWAY 50 CORRIDOR STUDY: The Idaho Transportation Department is studying possible improvements along the Highway 50 corridor between Twin Falls and Interstate 84. The review includes the 60-year-old Hansen Bridge, but officials say no construction has been approved yet.
IN-N-OUT TRAFFIC PLAN: Twin Falls city leaders have approved a traffic plan for the upcoming In-N-Out Burger grand opening. Police say officers will be on hand to manage traffic, but the restaurant still hasn’t announced an official opening date.
NEW IDAHO LICENSE PLATES: Starting July 1st, Idaho drivers will have two new license plate options: an updated agriculture plate supporting classroom education, and a new black-and-white plate with high-contrast lettering.

INTERSTATE 84 CRASH: Idaho State Police are investigating a crash on Interstate 84 east of Boise after a driver who had exited a pulled-over vehicle was struck by another westbound vehicle Saturday night. Westbound lanes were closed for about 13 hours. The victim’s condition has not been released.
MADISON COUNTY SHOOTING: A 42-year-old woman was airlifted to the hospital after a shooting yesterday evening inside a home in Madison County. Her condition has not been released.
ZOO IDAHO EVACUATION: Zoo Idaho in Pocatello remains closed today after a possible bomb threat prompted an evacuation yesterday. No reopening date has been announced.

READINESS CENTER DEDICATION: The Idaho Army National Guard will dedicate its new Jerome County Regional Readiness Center today in honor of former Governor Dirk Kempthorne. The $24 million facility will serve the 145th Light Support Battalion, with the ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. at the Jerome library.
AMERICA 250 MONUMENT: The City of Heyburn has unveiled its new America 250 monument at Riverside Park. The marble monument features the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Liberty Bell.
๐ GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
HOUSING GROWTH: Idaho led the nation in housing growth for the second straight year in 2025, adding more than 17,000 homes. But housing advocates say demand still far exceeds supply, especially for affordable housing in fast-growing communities.
๐ง AGRICULTURE & WATER
IRRIGATION DELIVERIES: The North Side Canal Company says it will continue delivering irrigation water at 80 percent of normal levels for the rest of the 2026 season. Reservoirs are about 55 percent full, and officials say conservation efforts will be critical as hot, dry conditions continue.

NEW IDAHO STATE PARK: Idaho has opened its first new state park in nearly 30 years. Twin Peaks Ranch State Park, south of Salmon, features cabins, fishing ponds, and access to more than 2,000 miles of trails. Cabin reservations open tomorrow, with overnight stays beginning later this summer.

๐ฟ PARALYMPIC SKIING
MUFFY DAVIS HONORED: Idaho native and seven-time Paralympic medalist Muffy Davis is headed to the Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame. Davis, who overcame a skiing accident that left her paralyzed at 16, will be inducted August 20th in Utah, honoring her incredible career in sports and inspiring perseverance.
๐ฅ HIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD
SONDEREGGER EARNS STATE HONOR: Kimberly High School sophomore Joshua Sonderegger has been named the Gatorade Idaho Boys Track and Field Player of the Year. He becomes just the second athlete in school history to earn the honor after winning 4A state titles in both the shot put and discus. Sonderegger also helped lead the Bulldogs to a state team championship while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.
๐ COLLEGE FOOTBALL
VANDALS ADD DEFENSIVE BACK: The Idaho Vandals have added another piece to their secondary with the signing of defensive back Deion Gunn. The transfer from UAB and Ellsworth Community College brings experience at cornerback, safety, and nickel. Gunn is the third defensive back Idaho has added since the end of spring practice as the Vandals continue building depth for the 2026 season.

HANSONโS JOURNEY TO AC BOISE: One of AC Boise’s standout players this season is wingback Joseph Hanson, whose journey to Idaho has taken him around the world. The 22-year-old from Whitehorse, Yukon became the first professional soccer player from his hometown, playing in Canada and Ireland before signing with AC Boise. Hanson says the only thing he knew about Idaho before arriving was Boise State’s famous blue football field. Now he’s helping anchor AC Boise on both offense and defense.
