🛑 Deadly Crashes Under Investigation
Idaho State Police are investigating two deadly crashes from early Saturday. In Filer, a 49-year-old Twin Falls man died after his SUV rolled several times. North of Rogerson on Highway 93, a head-on crash between a pickup and semi killed a Hailey man and shut down the highway for about five hours.

⚖️ Michael Vaughan Case – Court Hearing
The man accused in the death of 5-year-old Michael Vaughan of Fruitland is due in court today. Stacey Wondra faces charges in the child’s disappearance and death. Preliminary hearings are scheduled to begin this week.

🛴 Fatal Scooter Crash in Meridian
A man riding an electric scooter in Meridian was killed Saturday night after being struck by multiple vehicles. Police say a possible blue SUV may have fled the scene.

📋 2026 Idaho Election Field Set
The 2026 Idaho election matchups are set. More than 270 legislative candidates and 29 statewide hopefuls filed before Friday’s deadline. Brad Little faces seven Republican challengers in the May primary, while Democrats have fielded candidates for every statewide office.

📖 Bible Reading Proposal Fails
Idaho lawmakers voted 7-to-7 Friday, blocking a proposal that would have required daily Bible readings in public schools. Lawmakers raised constitutional concerns, citing past U.S. Supreme Court rulings, and the tie vote means the bill will not move forward this session.

📚 Library Law Revisions Proposed
Idaho Republican lawmaker Jaron Crane is proposing changes to the state’s controversial library materials law after recent court challenges. The new bill would revise definitions of “harmful to minors” and adjust how the law applies to schools and libraries.

✈️ Protest Over Iran Airstrikes
More than a dozen protesters gathered at Five Points in Twin Falls criticizing airstrikes on Iran. Demonstrators argued President Donald Trump’s actions were unconstitutional without congressional approval and voiced concerns about the U.S. being drawn into a wider conflict.

💧 Emergency Waterline Repairs
The City of Twin Falls Water Department is making emergency waterline repairs today on Blue Lakes Boulevard. Expect lane reductions and closures near Fourth and Third Avenue East, with delays throughout the day.

🏔️ Avalanche Danger “Considerable”
The Sawtooth Avalanche Center says avalanche danger is “considerable” right now. More than 100 avalanches have been released in recent days, and triggering a slide is still possible on wind-loaded and steep slopes.

🏆 Burley Headed to State
Burley is headed to state after a big 66 to 63 win over Blackfoot in the IHSAA play-in game at American Falls. The Bobcats punched their ticket and are now getting ready for a tough first-round matchup.

🏀 Boys State Tournament Matchups
Nine Magic Valley teams hit the court Thursday at the boy’s state tournament.
In 1A, Dietrich takes on Rockland and Carey faces Timberline.
In 2A, Valley meets North Star Charter and Murtaugh battles Prairie.
Defending champ Wendell opens against Soda Springs in 3A.
In 4A, Filer gets top-seed Teton and the Minico Senators face Bonners Ferry.
In 5A, Burley draws Lewiston, and Twin Falls tips off against Bishop Kelly.

🏀 Declo Falls to Wendell
Declo suffered its biggest loss since January 8th, falling to Wendell 62-35. Jordon Swainston led the Trojans with 20 points as Wendell improved to 22-and-2, while Declo drops to 12-and-12.

⛷️ Kids Day at Pomerelle
Kids ages 4 to 12 hit the slopes Saturday for the annual Kids Day race at Pomerelle Mountain Resort, racing down Buttermilk Run for fun and fast times. Organizers say it’s all about giving every kid a chance. Pomerelle is now getting ready to host the regional Special Olympics on March 5th.

🤼 Magic Valley Wrestling Dominates
Magic Valley wrestling crowned 10 state champs this season. Jeratt Robinson led the Minico Spartans to the 5A team title, Raidyn Pugsley and Roxy Sheen brought home gold for Buhl Indians, and Sarah Toribau made history as Oakley’s first-ever girls state champion.

⚾ CSI Baseball & Basketball Roll
The College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles swept Prairie Sunday 6-2 and 12-2, finishing the weekend 5-and-0. Tyson Staheli and Trey Purser homered in the finale as CSI improves to 18-and-5.

The third-ranked CSI men knocked off top-ranked Snow 71-66 to win the Scenic West title and earn hosting rights for Region 18. Nathan Ahner and Ace Reiser led the way. The CSI women fell to Snow 78-68 but still claimed the conference crown and will also host Region 18.

The Golden Eagles run-ruled Prairie 11-0 Saturday. Kyson Giles struck out nine in a one-hit shutout, and Ryder Cutlip ended it with a three-run homer. CSI is now 16-and-5.

🥎 Boise State & Idaho Roundup
Boise State Broncos softball beat Charlotte 6-3 Sunday, with Marissa Gonzalez and Mya Flindt hitting back-to-back home runs. The Broncos snap a five-game skid and host the Blue Collar Classic this week.

Boise State Broncos men beat Fresno State 69-53 for their third straight win, led by Javan Buchanan’s 26 points. Boise State Broncos women topped Utah State 75-59 behind Tatum Thompson’s 19, closing out a strong home season at ExtraMile Arena.

The Idaho Vandals women host rival Eastern Washington Monday night in Moscow. Idaho has already clinched the top seed in the Big Sky and can secure the outright regular-season title with a win. The Vandal men close out the regular season on the road in Cheney before heading to the conference tournament in Boise.

Idaho State Bengals softball fell to Stetson 7-2 to close the Oregon Classic, finishing the weekend 2-and-3. The Bengals sit at 10-and-10 and return home to host the Orange and Black Classic next week.

Idaho State Bengals wrap up the regular season today at Sacramento State. ISU leads the Big Sky in blocks and bench scoring and looks to carry momentum into the conference tournament.
