💧 WATER SUPPLY
Idaho water experts say this year’s mountain snowpack is among the lowest on record. Officials told the Idaho Water Supply Committee that snowpack provides about 75 percent of the state’s water, and with warmer temperatures and less snow below 8,000 feet, some farmers may have to tap other water sources earlier this season.
🚔 HIT-AND-RUN INVESTIGATION
Idaho State Police are asking for help identifying a driver involved in a February 1st hit-and-run at the US-93 and Crossroads Point intersection in Jerome County.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be a black SUV.
Anyone with information should contact Idaho State Police.
🧗 HIKER RESCUE
Emergency crews rescued a woman in her 60s Saturday after she fell about 30 feet while hiking at Box Canyon near Hagerman.
Several Magic Valley agencies responded to the scene. She was transported to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
☎️ 911 SYSTEM STRAIN
A new report says Idaho’s 911 system is under strain due to funding shortages, staffing gaps, and aging equipment.
Lawmakers are being urged to consider creating a statewide 911 program to stabilize emergency communications.
💉 VACCINE BILL REJECTED
An Idaho House committee has rejected a bill that would have repealed vaccine requirements.
Critics said the proposal could have restricted access to medical care. Lawmakers voted to hold the bill in committee for now.
🎓 KIMBERLY HIGH SCHOOL
Kimberly High School may soon have a new principal.
Vice Principal TJ Sorensen is being recommended for the job after nearly two decades at the school.
The school board will consider the appointment on March 19.
🌡 MAGIC VALLEY WARM-UP
A major warm-up is on the way for the Magic Valley.
High temperatures could reach the upper 70s to low 80s by midweek, possibly breaking records in Twin Falls, before cooler air moves in this weekend.
✈️ SPRING BREAK TRAVEL
Spring Break travel is ramping up at Boise Airport, with about 165,000 passengers expected through March 22.
Travelers are encouraged to arrive early and check parking availability ahead of time to avoid delays.
👮 TROOPER SHORTAGE
Idaho State Police say they are short 30 to 40 highway troopers as experienced officers leave for higher-paying local agencies.
A bill now headed to the Idaho Senate would raise a vehicle registration fee from $3 to $8 to help recruit and retain troopers.

Burley topped Malad 5–1.
Twin Falls rolled Borah 11–1 and later 21–1, but fell to Middleton 12–8.
Filer stayed hot with wins over Wood River 13–3 and 12–3.
Kimberly fell to Mountain Home 13–6.
Minico dropped a game to Bonneville 6–2, but bounced back Saturday beating Vallivue 12–6.
Jerome split with Pocatello, winning 7–4 and 10–6 after falling to Nampa 13–3.
Canyon Ridge beat Nampa twice 13–9 and 13–8.
Declo edged Bear Lake 13–12.
Buhl beat Payette 7–6 before falling to Shelley 18–4.

Wendell edged Melba 16–14.
Kimberly shut out Marsh Valley 10–0.
Minico dropped two games to Capital 24–4 and 19–9.
Canyon Ridge fell twice to Preston 24–14 and 12–2.

🏀 IDAHO VANDALS — MARCH MADNESS
Big news for the University of Idaho Vandals.
Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams are heading to March Madness.
The Vandal women earned a 13-seed in the Sacramento Region and will face 4-seed Oklahoma on March 20.
The Idaho men are dancing for the first time since 1990, landing a 15-seed in the South Region and taking on 2-seed Houston on March 19.
🏀 CSI MEN — DISTRICT CHAMPIONS
The third-ranked College of Southern Idaho men are District Champions after a thrilling 102–96 overtime win over Cochise College.
CSI trailed by 15 at halftime but stormed back, tying the game on a three-pointer from Jalen Lyn with 23 seconds left before taking over in overtime.

- Ace Reiser: 20 points
- Ben Thornbrue: 21 points, 14 rebounds
CSI improves to 31-2 and will learn its NJCAA national tournament seed today.
🏀 CSI WOMEN — REGION 18 CHAMPS
The 11th-ranked CSI women claimed the Region 18 title with a 65–46 win over Salt Lake.
Savannah Stoker led the way with 15 points and 10 rebounds and was named tournament MVP.
The Golden Eagles improve to 28-4 and also advance to the national tournament.
⚾ CSI BASEBALL
The College of Southern Idaho baseball team finished non-conference play strong Saturday, beating Treasure Valley 2–1 and 13–3 to move to 24–5 overall.
Ryder Cutlip and Trey Purser both homered in the game-two run-rule win.
🥎 CSI SOFTBALL
The 22nd-ranked CSI softball team swept Snow College 20–3 and 15–5.
Big days came from Adi Hansen and Rilyne Keck.
The Golden Eagles are now 13–9 overall and 5–3 in conference play.
🥇 PARALYMPICS HISTORY
Sun Valley native Jake Adicoff made history at the 2026 Paralympics, winning gold in all four Nordic skiing events.
The visually impaired skier now has eight career Paralympic medals for Team USA.
🥎 BOISE STATE SOFTBALL
Boise State fell to Nevada 9–4 Sunday after five late Wolf Pack runs broke a 4–4 tie.
The Broncos drop to 13–17 and play a doubleheader at Sacramento State tomorrow.
🥎 IDAHO STATE SOFTBALL
Idaho State swept San Diego Friday, winning 3–0 and 3–2.
