Several vehicles collided along I-84 near Bliss yesterday afternoon. The pileup was in the westbound lanes of travel slowing traffic. Just before 6 pm the crash scene was cleared. Meanwhile crews reported a significant traffic delay yesterday just after noon in the eastbound lanes of I-84 near milepost 171 between Jerome and Twin Falls. A semi-truck blocked the lanes of travel. No one reported injuries.
Fire crews in Twin Falls were called to the scene of a home that had filled with smoke yesterday morning. Just before 11 workers cleaning the duct system called the report in. Fire crews found somehow small toys had been sucked into an air vent and onto the furnace.
In September 2024, home prices in Idaho were up 2.6% compared to last year, selling for a median price. According to the Idaho Housing Market overview oTn average, the number of homes sold was up 5.1% year over year and there were 2,428 homes sold in September this year, up 2,310 homes sold in September last year.
Children in foster care, including extended foster care for youth aged 18-20, can fish in Idaho for free. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game rolled out the program that provides a free fishing license for foster children and one parent. The program will start in 2025.
As Idaho drivers start gearing up for Black Friday sales, they may find themselves with a bit more spending money. According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $3.20, which is eight cents less than a week ago, 25 cents less than a month ago, and 59 cents less than a year ago. The national average currently stands at $3.08 per gallon.

Samson Allen, the young man who went viral after a Meridian Police officer body-slammed him onto the ground and knelt on his neck, was in court Friday. Prosecutors are reportedly trying to have all of the footage of the arrest, minus two minutes, disallowed from court. The defense wants all of the footage made available.

In men’s college basketball, Boise State returns home to face Corban on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at ExtraMile Arena. The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. Corban comes into the game looking to rebound after two early losses. The NAIA program last faced Boise State in 2012, a matchup the Broncos won decisively, 105-49.
A series of Washington State runs in the second half was enough to help defeat the Idaho Vandals, 90-67 in the 279th edition of the Battle of the Palouse series on Monday night in Beasley Coliseum. The Vandals trailed by four points with 17:26 remaining in the second half before the Cougars used a 17-4 run to help build separation, and later delivered a 13-2 spurt to help put the game out of reach. The Vandals return to the court on Saturday, November 16 for a road test against BYU at noon.
The Idaho State men’s basketball team took on Southern Oregon University in Reed Gym for their home opener of the 2024-25 season last night, defeating the Raiders by a final score of 87-63. The Idaho State men’s basketball team will be back in the road for the next three games in a row, traveling to the west coast to take on the University of San Diego on Saturday, November 16th at 1 p.m., Cal State Fullerton on Monday, November 18th at 8 p.m., and UCLA on Wednesday, November 20th at 9 p.m.
Boise State junior Ashton Jeanty was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for the sixth time this season. The tailback ran for 209 yards and three touchdowns on a career-high 34 carries, leading the Broncos to a 28-21 victory over Nevada.
