Jerome County Shooting
Two dead bodies were discovered by the Jerome County Sheriff’s office on Friday. Authorities arrived at a home after reports of a shooting and found a male and a female, both deceased from gunshot wounds. Investigations are ongoing.

Teen Arrested for Crash and Theft
A 17-year-old male is in custody in Twin Falls after stealing a pickup truck and crashing it shortly after near the intersection of 4200 North and 2500 East. The incident occurred Saturday at 5:30 PM. The teen fled the scene but was found hours later and taken into custody.

Kaden Thomson Sentenced to Life
Kaden Thomson has been sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in the murder of Freddy Rodriguez, who was shot in his driveway a year ago. The incident began with a carjacking spree involving Thomson and Mi Quavis Taylor. At the time, Thomson faced 13 felony charges.

Safe Haven Baby Box Case
Authorities have identified 18-year-old Angel N. Newberry of Twin Falls as the suspect in placing a deceased infant inside the Safe Haven Baby Box at Grove Creek Medical in Blackfoot. She has been charged with failing to report a death. Medical staff discovered the baby on October 13 shortly after it was placed in the box.

Luma System Update
Officials from the Idaho State Controller’s Office informed legislators that the new Luma business and IT system may take 2–3 years to optimize. The Idaho Office of Performance Evaluation presented its findings on the system, which manages business, finance, HR, and IT functions.

Hunter Rescued After Accident
A 21-year-old hunter was rescued from the Snake River Canyon near Murtaugh yesterday morning. The man accidentally discharged his gun, shooting himself in the foot. Emergency crews assisted him out of the canyon.

Kimberly Road Closure
Kimberly’s Main Street will be closed today for repairs between Monroe Street and Highway 30. Crews will be working from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.


SPORTS

Men’s Basketball
The Idaho men’s basketball team fell short against San Diego, losing 68-61 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on Sunday. The Vandals will host UC Riverside on Saturday, November 30, at the ICCU Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.

Vandals Dominate Idaho State
Nate Thomas rushed for 171 yards, Jack Layne threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns, and Andrew Marshall returned a kickoff for 181 yards and a touchdown as the Vandals beat Idaho State 40-17 on Saturday in Pocatello. The Vandal defense also contributed three interceptions.

Playoff Football Returns
The Idaho Vandals earned the eighth seed in the 2024 playoff bracket, giving them a first-round bye. They’ll play a second-round game on December 7 at 6:00 PM in the Kibbie Dome against the winner of the Richmond-Lehigh game.

Women’s Basketball
The Idaho State women’s basketball team fell to the No. 19 Texas Christian Horned Frogs yesterday in Fort Worth, Texas. The Bengals head to Cancun for Thanksgiving week to participate in the 2024 Cancun Challenge, starting with Vermont on Thanksgiving Day at 2:00 PM, followed by Rhode Island the next day.

High School Football and Basketball
In the final local high school football game of the season, Westside defeated Declo 28-6 in the state playoffs.
