The man struck by a car in downtown Twin Falls has died of his injuries. Police say 80-year-old Henry Frank Yepez of Twin Falls succumb to his injuries yesterday morning. He was walking near the intersection of Second Avenue East and Hansen Street when he was struck by a car driven by an 18-year-old Twin Falls resident.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals sided with Thomas Creech’s attorneys in an ongoing legal dispute, the same day an Idaho judge signed his latest death warrant. The decision from the appellate court does not stop the scheduled execution but it could make it easier for Creech’s counsel to file a new request for a stay. The court’s decision revolves around whether U.S. District Judge Amanda Brailsford should have recused herself due to her relationship with Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts.
Officials in Idaho say they are seeing fewer quagga mussel larvae and fewer dead fish compared to last year. This is the second week of administering a copper chemical in the Snake River in an attempt to eliminate the invasive mussels.

In an innovative partnership to meet the ever-changing college athletics landscape, Boise State Athletics and Learfield announced a partnership extension through 2038-39 as Learfield will remain the university’s exclusive multimedia rights partner. With the extended partnership, the new deal includes the North End Zone Project at Albertsons Stadium.
The Idaho volleyball team lost to Weber State in three sets, last night in Memorial Gym. The Vandals will be back in Memorial Gym tomorrow to host in-state rival Idaho State at 6 p.m.
The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball Team put up a fight early but couldn’t sustain, losing to Salt Lake Community college in Scenic West Athletic Conference action. CSI, 7-14 overall and 2-4 in conference play, hosts Colorado Northwestern Saturday at 1 p.m.
The CSI Men’s Soccer club avenged an earlier loss to CNCC with a 3-1 road victory Thursday afternoon, making it their third victory in four matches. The Golden Eagles will look to continue building upon this late season momentum as they head to Salt Lake to take on the #2 team in the country.
The CSI Women’s Soccer club hit the road yesterday looking to start a win streak, but played Colorado Northwestern to a scoreless draw. CSI will continue their road trip as they travel to Salt Lake to take on the ninth-ranked Bruins tomorrow.
In district tournament games from yesterday locally, first for boys’ soccer, Thunder Ridge took the win over canyon Ridge 3 to 2. For the Girls, Highland of Pocatello downed Canyon Ridge 5 to 0. Wood River outlasted Mountain home 2 to 0.
For Volleyball games, Malad outlasted Declo 3 to 0. Burley 3 Mountain Home 0.
