🥫 SNAP BENEFITS RESUME STATEWIDE
Idaho health officials say full SNAP food assistance funding should arrive by today, with benefits distributed within 48 hours. Payments were delayed during the record federal shutdown, but a new stopgap bill signed by President Donald Trump allows states to resume full funding. More than 130,000 Idahoans rely on SNAP, with an average benefit of $178 per person.
⚖️ ABORTION LAWSUIT DISMISSED
A federal judge has permanently dismissed The Satanic Temple’s challenge to Idaho’s abortion laws, ruling the group lacked standing and that its claims couldn’t be saved by amendment. Attorney General Raúl Labrador praised the decision, saying Idaho’s pro-life laws remain constitutionally sound. The Temple says it plans to refile if it finds a pregnant plaintiff.
🕯️ KOHBERGER ORDERED TO PAY MORE RESTITUTION
A judge has ordered Bryan Kohberger to pay an additional $3,000 in restitution to two of the victims’ families to cover funeral urns. Prosecutors had sought $27,000, but most expenses weren’t eligible under Idaho law.

Yesterday marked three years since the murders of four University of Idaho students in Moscow. Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves were remembered by family and friends. Their killer, Bryan Kohberger, is serving life in prison after pleading guilty earlier this year.

🐴 BOISE STATE FOOTBALL — MOUNTAIN WEST SHOWDOWN
Boise State returns from its second off-week and heads to Snapdragon Stadium tomorrow night to face San Diego State. Both teams are 4-1 in Mountain West play, making this a battle for the top of the standings.
BSU is 17–1 off a bye since joining the conference, and head coach Spencer Danielson holds one of the nation’s top winning percentages. Kickoff is 8:30 p.m.
🏐 IDAHO STATE VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO NORTHERN COLORADO
Idaho State lost in straight sets to Northern Colorado, 25-21, 25-19, 25-21. The Bengals hit .133, while UNC rolled with 49 kills and .250 hitting.
Abby McClain led ISU with 7 kills, and the Bengals out-blocked the Bears but couldn’t overcome 11 service errors. Idaho State drops to 9-16 overall and 5-8 in Big Sky play, and heads to Northern Arizona tomorrow at 11 a.m.
🏐 BOISE STATE VOLLEYBALL DROPS MATCH TO SJSU
Boise State dropped its first match of the California road swing, falling to San José State in four sets. Senior Kailyn Jager had a season-high 17 kills and a double-double.
Layla Smith added 10 kills, and Bre Mitchell recorded 23 digs. Boise State is now 16-10 and visits Fresno State tomorrow at 1 p.m. Mountain.

Boise State women’s basketball wraps up its homestand today against unbeaten UC Davis at 6:30 p.m. The Broncos opened 2-0 behind big performances from Libby Hutton, Natalie Pasco, Dani Bayes, and Tatum Thompson.
