🍞 Food Pantries Facing Surge in Demand
With SNAP benefits still delayed, food pantries in the Magic Valley are seeing a sharp rise in need. South Central Community Action Partnership in Twin Falls has doubled its food box distributions compared to last year. Community groups, including the Twin Falls Education Foundation, have raised tens of thousands to help as SCCAP prepares for its “60 Hours to Fight Hunger” drive, November 20–22.
🚓 Highway 50 Crash Blocks Traffic
Idaho State Police investigated a crash yesterday morning in Twin Falls County after a Ford Edge failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a semi. The semi jack-knifed and blocked the highway for about two and a half hours.
🏫 Filer Schools Brace for Budget Cuts
The Filer School District is preparing for budget cuts after voters rejected two levies that would have funded programs, staffing, and maintenance. Officials warn of larger class sizes and fewer electives. The district may bring a revised levy back in May, with a hiring freeze expected in the meantime.
🏛️ Senators React to Shutdown’s End
