Traffic near the 400-road overpass along I-84 in Jerome County is slowed.  A crash occurred along the freeway that has left at least one person injured.  The rescue personnel had trouble getting to the crash site due to a large traffic congestion. 

An 18-year-old male died after he was ejected and struck by a semi-truck near Bliss early yesterday morning.  The victim was westbound in a pickup around 2:23 am when he struck a light pole, causing the vehicle to roll and come to rest in the eastbound lane.  He died at the scene.

Around 9:40 am yesterday, another crash occurred along U.S. 30 just east of Bliss.  One driver was making a left turn on to river road when they were struck by another car eastbound on Highway 30.  One person airlifted for treatment. 

Idaho gas prices continued their seasonal slide this week.  According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $3.41, which is three cents less than a week ago, 14 cents less than a month ago, and 54 cents less than a year ago.  Meanwhile, the national average currently sits at $3.18 per gallon, with about half of the country’s pumps selling regular gas below the $3 mark.  Today’s price is 37 cents cheaper than a year ago.

Heidi Cornell, an elementary teacher from Lewiston, was named Idaho’s 2025 Teacher of the Year and will be the state’s educational spokesperson.  She is a third-grade teacher at Orchards Elementary School in Lewiston.

The former student body president at CSI entered a not guilty plea in Court yesterday to the charges of Child Sex Crimes.  20-year-old Dylan Ray is facing 15 charges.  His trial is expected to start February 25th

Voters in the Rock Creek Rural Fire Protection district will have a choice to make in November.  The district is asking for a levy of 1-point 3 million dollars a year for two years. Levy would allow for 3 additional full-time personnel plus some equipment and repairs.  If approved, the levy would replace a current levy of $46.34 per $100,000, an increase of $35.98.

The Idaho community Foundation said they passed out over 213-thousand dollars to southern Idaho.  The money will be spread throughout all counties in the area.

Wondering when the area ski resorts will open?  Ski season starts on November 22 which is the day Bogus Basin will open.  Sun Valley November 28th.  Pomerelle on the 29th.  Tamarack on December 6th.  Magic Mountain on December 7th.  Soldier on the 14th and Brundage on the 20th

The city of Twin Falls announced yesterday that the city pool will be closed today because of an accidental fecal release.  The city said that for proper disinfection, it will require increased chemical levels over an extended period.  It’s expected to reopen tomorrow.

To the local high school scoreboard from yesterday, in District Volleyball play it was Carey 3 Hansen 1.  Twin Falls 3 Minico 1.  Wood River 3 Burley 1.  Burley will host Minico in an elimination game today.  Dietrich 3 Richfield 2.  For volleyball games today, all district action, Filer goes to Kimberly, Canyon Ridge travels to Madison, Gooding and Buhl will play in Kimberly.  Lighthouse Christian and Murtaugh will play at Valley.  Raft River and the Sun Valley Community school will play Raft River in Oakley.  Shoshone will travel to play Oakley.  Hagerman goes to Valley.
