  • 🗳️ Todd Achilles for Senate
    Former Boise lawmaker Todd Achilles resigned from the Idaho House on Sunday to run for U.S. Senate as an independent. He will challenge longtime Senator Jim Risch, who’s running for re-election with Donald Trump’s endorsement.
  • ⚖️ Immigration Aid Law Blocked
    A federal judge has temporarily blocked Idaho from enforcing a new law limiting public aid for unauthorized immigrants. The ruling halts citizenship checks for a federally funded HIV program. The ACLU of Idaho sued, calling the law unconstitutional. A hearing is set for two weeks from now.

  • 🧑‍⚖️ Bryan Kohberger Plea
    Bryan Kohberger is expected to plead guilty today in Boise in the 2022 stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students. His attorneys struck a deal to avoid the death penalty. Prosecutors say the agreement ensures life in prison and spares families years of appeals.
  • 🔥 Preschool Fire
    A small fire broke out at Lil Buckaroos preschool in Twin Falls last night after a tree branch hit power lines. Fire crews quickly contained the blaze, which burned the side of the building.
  • 💧 Suspected Drowning
    Boise Police are investigating a suspected drowning after a man’s inner tube got caught on a tree in the Boise River Monday evening. The incident happened near 9th Street.
  • 🧬 Death Reclassified as Homicide
    The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office has reclassified a 2021 death as a homicide. Melissa Landers was found dead in Prairie, initially ruled a suicide. Two people, including Lee Landers, were arrested after a new forensic report found the injury couldn’t be self-inflicted.
  • 🪙 Unclaimed Lottery Winnings
    A $1 million Idaho Lottery prize has gone unclaimed. The winning ticket from the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle was sold in Star, but the deadline passed on June 30. The money—along with three unclaimed $1,000 prizes—now goes to Idaho schools and state buildings.
  • 🔫 Fatal Boise Shooting
    Boise Police are investigating a fatal shooting that killed 23-year-old Christopher Holloway late Sunday night. Officers found Holloway with multiple gunshot wounds on N. Dalton Lane. Despite medical efforts, he died at the scene.
  • 🚓 Ammon Barricade Incident
    An armed man barricaded himself in a car at an Ammon assisted living center yesterday afternoon and later shot himself. Deputies and SWAT responded but couldn’t negotiate. The man was taken to a hospital; his condition is unknown.
  • 🧑‍✈️ Marsing Murder Plot Sentencing
    A 35-year-old Marsing man, Andrew Larson, was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years to life for a 2023 murder plot in Boise. Prosecutors say he and an accomplice drove armed to the victim’s home. A roommate called police, stopping the attack before anyone was hurt.

🔥 Wildfire

  • 🌬️ Lincoln Creek Fire Update
    The Lincoln Creek Fire on the Fort Hall Reservation has grown to over 1,000 acres with 0% containment. Winds up to 35 mph are fueling the blaze. Evacuations were lifted, but 400 LDS youth were safely evacuated from a camp as a precaution. Crews continue battling the fire.

    The Cowboys B swept Burley Green Sox B:
    • Game 1: Cowboys won 10–0 in five innings. Kamden Richter pitched a three-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts.
    • Game 2: Cowboys won 12–2 in six innings. Kaden Black went 3-for-3 and pitched a complete game with 6 strikeouts.
    • Burley (12–10–1) hosts Reno Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.
    • Twin Falls (21–4) hosts Pocatello Rays Monday at 4:30 p.m.
  • 🐶 Kimberly Dogs B vs. Buhl Tribe
    Kimberly Dogs B stayed undefeated at 15–0, beating Buhl Tribe 14–3 in five innings.
    Daxton Reid drove in four runs and struck out six batters.
    Bryce Sudik and Colt Taylor each had three hits.
  • 🦅 Twin Falls Hawks B vs. Filer Cats B
    • Game 1: Hawks B won 10–4 after a six-run sixth inning. Max Heider and Braden Wheeler led the offense.
    • Game 2: Hawks B edged out a 3–2 win on a wild pitch.
      Kaiden Johnson threw a one-hitter with eight strikeouts.
