Police Raids Target Human Trafficking
Authorities in Twin Falls conducted simultaneous raids on three massage parlors yesterday as part of a long-term investigation into human trafficking. One woman, Xiuying Guan, was cited for misdemeanor prostitution. The three locations were identified as Angel Massage and Therapeutic Massage, both on Blue Lakes, and Jasmine Massage on Falls Avenue.

Idaho Legislators Begin New Session

Funding Boosts Recreation Sites in Idaho
Three recreation sites in southern Idaho are receiving upgrades through funding from the Foundation for America’s Public Lands. The Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area will receive $350,000 to create an outdoor classroom for students to engage in stewardship activities. The Ridge to Rivers Trail System in Boise will get $200,000 for improvements like paved surfaces and expanded facilities. The Wilson Creek Travel Management Area near Melba is also receiving $15,000 for fireproof signage and gates to enhance safety and reduce off-trail damage.
Idaho Fish and Game Elk Feeding Program
Idaho Fish and Game is asking visitors to avoid the Bullwhacker feed site near Ketchum this winter, as they begin feeding about 125 elk to reduce conflicts in nearby areas. The site, in operation since the 1980s, helps keep elk away from Ketchum and Sun Valley, where they can be at risk of car accidents or other hazards. The feeding will continue through April.
HUD Invests in Idaho Families
HUD is investing nearly $1 million in Idaho to support the Family Self-Sufficiency Program, helping Section 8 recipients achieve financial independence. The funds will aid Idaho Housing and Finance, among others, in breaking the cycle of poverty.
