🔷 ICE Activity in Southern Idaho

ICE and federal authorities were active in southern Idaho yesterday. There were several detentions in Nampa and Canyon County. Although there has been no official comment, a multi-hour operation was observed Wednesday outside a motel in Malta. There was an operation on West Avenue G in Jerome at 9:40 a.m.

🚛 I-84 Semi Crash

A semi-truck crash this morning at mile marker 175.5 between the two Twin Falls exits has westbound I-84 slowed. The truck rolled onto its side around 4:50 a.m., carrying 77,000 pounds of food. Minor injuries were reported, and there’s no fuel leakage. Traffic is currently diverted into the inside lane—expect delays.

⚖️ Skylar Meade Pleads Guilty

Skylar Meade has pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in the killings of James Mauney and Gerald Henderson. Under a plea deal, Meade will receive two consecutive life sentences without parole.

🎅 Twin Falls Parade Closures

Downtown Twin Falls will see early road closures today for the Festival of Lights Parade. Main Avenue from Jerome to Castleford closes at 2 p.m. Vehicles left after 2 will be towed.

❄️ City Winter Prep

The City of Twin Falls is getting winter-ready and asking for your help. Crews are already pre-treating roads with deicer, and plows will hit priority routes as soon as snow starts to stick.

Idaho Energy & Mineral Summit

Idaho hosted its first Energy and Mineral Summit yesterday, bringing together state and industry leaders to spotlight Idaho’s role in national energy. Governor Brad Little says Idaho will help lead America’s long-term energy future.

🏟️ CWI Takes Over Ford Idaho Center

The College of Western Idaho has officially taken over the Ford Idaho Center in a no-cash transfer, but it comes with $25 million in deferred maintenance and years of city subsidies. CWI leaders say the 90-acre complex offers future campus expansion.

💸 Record Lobbying Activity in Idaho

Idaho saw record lobbying activity this year, with more than $2.5 million spent in 2025 and rising out-of-state influence. Secretary of State Phil McGrane says new reporting laws now require year-round monthly reports. The top spender was Missouri-based Modern Ag Alliance, pouring over $620,000 into a single bill.

👮 Pocatello Officer–Pedestrian Crash

A Pocatello police officer struck a pedestrian after failing to yield Thursday afternoon. The pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the officer was cited. Idaho State Police are investigating.

🚜 Valley High School Agriculture Program

Valley High School is launching its own agriculture program, backed by a $3.5 million grant. The building is expected to open next school year.

🏆 Magic Valley Hoops on a Full Friday Night

It’s a full Friday night of high school hoops across the Magic Valley!
On the boys’ side, Minico heads to Hyrum, Utah to take on Mountain Crest, while Camas County travels to Mackay, and Leadore hits the road to Richfield.

For the girls, tournaments highlight the night—Wendell meets Garden Valley at the Carey Holiday Tournament, and Jerome hosts multiple matchups at the Jerry Callen Memorial, including Jerome vs. Nampa, Raft River vs. Mackay, Mountain Home vs. Butte County, and Twin Falls battling Timberline out of Boise.

Additional action includes Leadore at Richfield, Murtaugh vs. West Side at the Ririe Shootout, Rockland taking on Carey, Wood River at Ontario, Gooding at Cole Valley Christian, Rimrock at Glenns Ferry, and Kimberly hosting Snake River.

🎳 Twin Falls Bowladrome Tournament

It was a full house at the Twin Falls Bowladrome yesterday with all 30 lanes packed and about 170 bowlers competing in a 5-Man Team and Baker Roll-Off Tournament.
In JV team play, Minico Boys 2 took first, with Jerome’s JV Girls winning the Baker Roll-Off. Varsity Girls were led by Twin Falls High, and Varsity Boys saw Minico claim the top spot.
Top bowlers included Twin Falls’ Braylynn Jeroue with a 433 series, and Filer’s Shane Rackham leading the boys with a 436.

🏀 Canyon Ridge vs. Burley + Girls’ Scores

A big night on the hardwood! In boys’ basketball, Canyon Ridge topped Burley 76–63, with Burley’s Nash Gillette leading the Bobcats with 16 points. The teams meet again Monday, December 15th.
In girls’ action, Burley beat Canyon Ridge 54–45 and will host Vallivue on Saturday.

🦅 CSI Women Stay Unbeaten

The 12th-ranked CSI women stayed unbeaten, pulling away in the second half to beat Casper College 73–64 at the Gillette Tournament. Savannah Stoker led with 20 points, while CSI dominated the boards and shot 52 percent. Now 11–0, the Golden Eagles face Gillette College tonight at 6.

🏀 Idaho Vandals Road Matchups

Fresh off a 32-point win over North Dakota, Idaho heads to South Dakota State tomorrow for the Big Sky–Summit Challenge. The Vandals won the last matchup in 2021 and enter with one of the nation’s top three-point streaks and their highest NET ranking ever. Idaho then travels to Notre Dame on Wednesday.

🐅 Idaho State Women vs. Oral Roberts

Idaho State women hit the road to face Oral Roberts Saturday in the Big Sky–Summit Challenge. The Bengals come in 5–2 after a dominant win over Omaha, led by one of the league’s top defenses. ORU is 4–5 and coming off a high-scoring upset at Idaho. Tipoff is 1 p.m. MT.
