Boise State dropped the opener of a two-game Mountain West softball series 3-2 at San Diego State, Saturday. The Broncos spotted the Aztecs two runs in the first inning and did not get a runner into scoring position through three innings.
Idaho State football played in its 2024 Spring Game Saturday night. The game did not follow a scrimmage format and instead consisted of timed drills and timed full-contact drills showcasing the Bengals' development to the fans in attendance. The Bengals have small group practices remaining over the next three weeks before the team breaks for the summer where the Bengals will focus on strength training and conditioning in preparation for the 2024 season opener against Oregon State on August 31 in Corvallis, Oregon.
The College of Southern Idaho needed a ball to bounce its way just once this weekend. After losing two one-run games on Friday, the Golden Eagles lost to Southern Nevada 6-2 and then 8-7 in 11 innings on Saturday. CSI, 21-18 overall and 6-11 in conference play, hosts league-leading Salt Lake this Friday and Saturday.
From the baseball diamonds locally over the weekend, we find Firth defeating Wendell 12 to 2.
