In Boise yesterday a crowd of about 200 people gathered at the Idaho Statehouse to show their support for President Donald Trump.  The rally remained peaceful in contrast to massive protests on the national stage.  Idaho’s representatives in Washington DC and Governor Brad Little individually issued statements about yesterday’s events saying they were un-patriotic and un-American.  The nation’s elected representatives scrambled to crouch under desks and don gas masks, while police futilely tried to barricade the building. One woman was shot and killed in the incident.

Authorities have identified the inmate who walked away from the Idaho Falls Community Reentry Center on Tuesday.  33 year old Jeremiah Roland Johnson, was last seen on the reentry center’s security cameras at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday. IDOC says Johnson was wearing blue jeans and a grey shirt.  Authorities say do not approach him but call police if you know his whereabouts.

New information, including that the prosecution plans to pursue murder charges for Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell and may pursue the death penalty, was revealed at a hearing yesterday.  The hearing was set to discuss three things: the defense’s accusation that Prosecutor Rob Wood committed prosecutorial misconduct; the request to move the July jury trial out of Fremont County; and the request to dismiss charges against Daybell.

Richard Byrd of Rogerson filed a federal lawsuit Monday against Republican Gov. Brad Little and the state’s health department seeking to force the state to put people 65 and over at the front of the line for the coronavirus vaccination.  Byrd in the lawsuit contends denying him access to the vaccine immediately is a violation of his rights under the U.S. Constitution, “and in reality is a ‘threat’ to my life.”

Police in Elmore County have charged Richard Miskin with aggravated assault and several drug charges after a person was shot with a gun and a crossbow in November of last year.  The person was taken by helicopter to a Boise hospital with life-threatening injuries.
