Officials with Heritage school in Jerome have officially requested an investigation of the state education commission responsible for Charter Schools.  They say a deep rooted bias exists against certain schools and that calls into question the fairness of their oversight.  Chairman Alan Reed can be heard advocating against the renewal of Heritage’s charter and suggesting students would be better served in Jerome District’s standard schools.  One commissioner told Reed to open an ice cream shop in Jerome, to which Reed countered: “Ice cream doesn’t make brain cells.”

SPORTS

In sports from around the area, Ryan Lundgren is moving from the Boise area to coach at the College Of Southern Idaho.  Lundgren will be leaving Vallivue as the head boys basketball coach to assist coaching with the eagles.  He is a BSU alumni and later coached at Boise State University.  When asked why he was leaving his high school position he said he wanted to move on to the college level.

20 year old Pete Bradshaw will be in district court following last week’s preliminary hearing.  The former cowboy for the College of Southern Idaho Rodeo team was arrested Tuesday, April 23 on a felony warrant. He bonded out Wednesday, April 24.   The female victim told authorities on March 7, 2019 she might have been drugged and raped. This is due to some of her clothing being removed and vaginal bleeding.  A police affidavit shows she went to St. Luke's Magic Valley where the nurse discovered evidence of trauma.
