The Cassia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion where the victim said she was shot with a taser and threatened with a baton.  On September 26th, Annalissa Archuleta said six people broke into her home.  The attackers were identified as 26 year old Autumn Garcia, 24 year old Jasmine Lopez, 21 year old Berenice Moreno and 20 year old Alexandro Torrez all from Burley and 23 year old Selina Ortega and  23 Year old Rico Para-Castillo from Heyburn.  Garcia and Moreno have been arrested. 

There may be a new emergency medical services facility in Gooding. Officials feel the need for a larger facility.  Currently they are operating as a Emergency Medical Technician service and they would like to take that up to a Paramedic Level.  That means more training.   The talk about a new building has been going on for about a year.

If you were thinking of sending your child to Xavier school, you will be in line behind 361 students.  The public charter school opened its doors in 2007.  Statewide there are 1100 students on waiting lists for charter schools.

33 year old James Shaff of Twin Falls was arraigned earlier this week on charges that he sexually abused drunk teenagers and dispensed alcoholic beverage to a minor.  He has pled not guilty.  A 15 year old boy testified that Shaff had sex with him multiple times.  A jury trial has been scheduled for February 5th

The head of the state agency that serves Idaho's veterans must complete mandatory training following a social media post demeaning sexual assault victims.  State officials said Idaho Division of Veterans Services Administrator Marv Hagedorn must complete two training sessions through the Idaho Division of Human Resources before Nov. 1.

Sugar Beet Harvest is underway and that means more farm trucks on the roads.  Deadline to be wrapped up is November 1st.  Drivers are urged to use caution.

Federal officials are expanding a firefighting air base in eastern Idaho.  Pocatello Regional Airport's air base's the increasing importance is prompting the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service to build a third "pit" where aircrafts will refuel and reload flame retardant, within the next couple of years.

In local sports, first to Girls Soccer, Kimberly outlasted Gooding 4 to 1 and it was Filer 7 Buhl 1.  No Score in the Declo Wendell Game. 

To boys soccer, the Community School 4 Bliss 0.  Wendell shut out Declo 5 to 0.  Gooding 5 Kimberly 1 and  it was Buhl 2 Filer 0. 

In volleyball action, it was Kimberly 3 Canyon  Ridge 0.  Gooding 3 Shoshone 0.  Hagerman 3 Murtaugh 1then in a second game it was Murtaugh 3 Camas County 0 in the Sawtooth Conference.  Century outlasted Burley 3 to 0.

Born on this day in Mora, Missouri, was Leroy Frank Van Dyke, the American country music singer. He has recorded more than 500 songs, his best known hits, are "The Auctioneer" (which sold over 2.5 million copies), from 1956 and "Walk On By" from 1961, (which was named by Billboard in 1994 as the biggest country single of all time, based on sales, plays and weeks in the charts).


Born on this day in Healdsburg, California, was country music artist Heidi Newfield. She was lead singer, rhythm guitarist and harmonica player for Trick Pony, from 1996 until 2006, when she left in pursuit of a solo career. She made her solo chart debut in 2008 with the single, "Johnny & June" which peaked at #11 on the Hot Country Songs charts.


One of Nashville's most mysterious crimes was reported which involved the abduction of singer, Tammy Wynette. Media reports said that Wynette had been abducted by a masked man at a shopping center. No suspects were ever found or arrested. While Wynette insisted the story was true, her daughter raised doubts, claiming the incident was fabricated.


The Farm Aid 97' benefit concert took place at the Tweeter Center, Tinley Park, Illinois. Held to raise money for family farmers in the US, the concerts were organized by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young. Artists who appeared included: Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Fogerty, Beck, Dave Matthews Band and The Allman Brothers Band.


Tim McGraw released "My Best Friend" the third single from his album A Place In The Sun which went on to reach the top of the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
