As we come on the air this morning, police and rescue workers are dealing with a major crash that has closed a portion of I-84. The ITD says the accident occurred near the Jerome Minidoka county line in the eastbound lane. At last check crews are working to open at least one lane of travel. The crash involves at least 2 large semi-trucks. It happened just after 2 am. There are injuries and one fatality is reported. Authorities report a large debris field.
Police are investigating a 3 vehicle crash in the same area along I-84 that left one person injured. It happened yesterday just after 2 pm when a car collided with a potato truck. Then the first car collided with a second.
The Jerome School district superintendent Pat Charlton sent a message to parents yesterday that said a student had taken a weapon to the High School. The school went into lockdown while police investigated. The student was taken into custody.
Twin Falls police and the Idaho Fish and Game spent much of yesterday morning dealing with a cow moose that had wondered into the city. Authorities say the moose was first spotted near the canyon rim near Costco. Unfortunately the Moose died when workers attempted to sedate it. The moose fell over the canyon rim and died.
A proposal by the Idaho Senate to call a special session of the Idaho Legislature to reinstate the presidential primary election in May does not have the votes to advance in the Idaho House of Representatives. Meanwhile support is building in the Idaho House for a different proposal that could reinstate the presidential primary in March.
The Jerome County prosecuting attorney has resigned his position. Christopher Calbo recently pled no contest to assault charges in Oregon.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Debora K. Grasham is expected to decide in the coming weeks whether to grant a request to temporarily bar Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador from enforcing the state’s so-called “abortion trafficking” law. The lawsuit is over its constitutionality proceeds in federal court.

After falling to 0-2 for the first time since 2005 on a last-second kick against UCF, Boise State's captain and linebacker DJ Schramm said, "everything we want is still right in front of us." Under head coach Andy Avalos, the Broncos have an annual goal of winning a Mountain West Championship and a bowl game. While those goals are still well within reach with conference play yet to kick off, Avalos' group is in need of a momentum-changing win on Saturday as it welcomes North Dakota to The Blue.
From the high school scoreboard, first for girls soccer the Kimberly Bulldogs defeated the Wendell Trojans with a 10 to 0 score. Filer outlasted Declo 3 to 2. It was Buhl 3 Gooding 0
For the Boys, it was Wendell 4 Kimberly 2 and Gooding 4 Buhl 0. The Sun Valley Community School overpowered Bliss 3 to 0.
To volleyball, Canyon Ridge defeated Burley 3 to 1. Kimberly took the win over Filer 3 to 0. Grace Lutheran took the win over Clark county 3 to 0. Lighthouse Christian 3 Hansen 0.
On the game schedule for today, first for football, Grace travels to Notus, Wendell heads to Bear Lake, Caldwell will be on Buhl’s home turf. Preston will be in Burley, Lighthouse Christian will travel to Carey, Rockland goes to Castleford. Wood River travels to Filer, Declo goes to Firth, Mountain Home travels to Gooding. Glenns Ferry to Hagerman, Twin Falls heads to Jerome, Marsh Valley will be in Kimberly. Century goes to Minico, Valley travels to Murtaugh, Oakley to Raft River and Canyon Ridge will head to Ridgevue.
On today’s volleyball schedule Hagerman, Declo, Filer and Lighthouse Christian will be at Mountain View as part of the Idaho Classic. Twin Falls, Rocky Mountain, Boise Timberline and Kimberly, will be part of the Twin Falls Invitational. Twin Falls Christian Academy travels to Camas County. Grace Lutheran goes to Taylor’s Crossing.
