Law enforcement officials seized dark clothing, medical gloves, a flashlight and other items from a Pennsylvania home where they arrested a graduate student charged with stabbing four University of Idaho students to death, according to newly unsealed court documents.  The records were made public two months after Police arrested 28 year old Bryan Kohberger at his parents’ home in eastern Pennsylvania.

Idaho has joined a Texas lawsuit against the Biden administration’s waterway protections, claiming the rules are too vague and violate state sovereignty rights.   The lawsuit, originally filed in southern Texas was amended to include Idaho. In it, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador contend that a new interpretation of a Clean Water Act rule is too vague, oversteps the bounds of federal authority and puts the liberties of states and private property owners at risk.

Public drag performances in Idaho could be prohibited in Idaho if Lawmakers prevail in proposed legislation.  It was introduced this week and if passed would hold private venues accountable if children are present at a performance.

The House Education Committee on Tuesday heard three informal presentations regarding new education savings account, or ESA, proposals. The Senate on Monday rejected a universal ESA bill.  The first proposed expanding an existing college savings account program known as a 529 plan.  Another proposal would also expand an existing program, the Empowering Parents grant.  Rep. Lance Clow, of Twin Falls, presented the last proposal of the day.   The bill would create an ESA that could be used for accredited private schools.

The Idaho Legislature’s Senate Transportation Committee voted to advance a bill that would create a restricted driver’s license available to all people 16 and older residing in Idaho, regardless of their immigration status.

Saint Alphonsus unveiled their Idaho's first Neuro, Surgical, and Trauma Intensive Care Unit yesterday.  The unit is designed to treat the most critical neurological injuries. The facility is part of St. Al’s in Boise.

SPORTS

A 12-0 solo-run from Max Rice in the final five minutes of the game powered an upset victory for Boise State men's basketball as the Broncos knocked off No. 18/19 San Diego State, 66-60, last night in front of a sold-out Extra Mile Arena. It marked the highest-ranked win at home for Boise State since a win over 15th-ranked Washington in 1998. Boise State closes out the regular season with a trip to Logan, Utah, to take on Utah State, Saturday. The Broncos and Aggies tip off at 7 p.m.

Colorado State defeated Boise State 66-51 in the final game of the regular season, Tuesday, in Moby Arena. The Bronco will head to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Championship. With tonight's loss, Boise State will be the No. 6 seed and will face No. 11 Utah State. The game will tip off at 8 p.m. MT, Sunday, at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Twin Falls boys basketball coach James Glenn has been placed on administrative leave, according to the Twin Falls School District.  Glenn coached in the Great Basin Championship game last Wednesday, but did not coach in the second-place game Friday against Jerome.  Former Burley head coach Mac Stannard will lead the Bruins to the Idaho High School Basketball State Championships, slated for March 2-4. Stannard has been an assistant with the Bruins this season.

The College of Southern Idaho will send 12 runners to the NJCAA Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships this week at Washburn University in Kansas.  Seven men and five women will represent the Golden Eagles at the two-day event beginning Friday that annually includes more than 500 athletes from dozens of junior colleges across the country.
