Idaho Governor Brad Little is touting what he says is a win for Idaho. An activist group filed a lawsuit challenging the state's right, and the governor's authority to remove an encampment from public property near the state’s capital. Advocates filed a lawsuit challenging the state's actions. A judge dismissed the lawsuit.
Yesterday marked 50 years since the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision that struck down states' prohibitions against abortion. Anti-abortion groups marched on Saturday from Julia Davis Park to the steps of the Idaho State Capitol for the March for Life. The event is held every year.
Twenty-two regional and national news organizations have formed a coalition to ask a judge to narrow a gag order in the case against 28 year old Bryan Kohberger accused of killing four University of Idaho students. The coalition contends that news access provides the public with important context and a better understanding of how the criminal justice system operates.
A Boise senator introduced a personal bill Friday to encourage the Idaho Legislature to reconsider passing a law that would add the words sexual orientation and gender identity to Idaho’s Civil Rights Act, a bill that has failed to pass the Legislature for more than 15 years. Senate Minority Leader Melissa Wintrow said she asked and was unable to get a hearing for the bill this session, but she and the rest of the Idaho Legislature’s Democratic caucus wanted to make sure the LGBTQ community knew the effort was made.
An increasing percentage of Idahoans believe the state is on the wrong track, according to a new Boise State University School of Public Service survey. According to the Survey, 41.2% said the state is on the wrong track. 37.3% said they expect economic conditions in Idaho to get worse.
There is a new warming center for Magic Valley Homeless people. The center opened Friday night at the Taproot church at the corner of Shoshone and 6th street in Twin Falls. Plans call for it to be open from 11 pm to 5 am daily. Once inside people will be able to warm up, and be offered warm drinks and snacks.

And then there was one. The college of southern Idaho mens basketball team is now the last undefeated team in NJCAA basketball. Saturday, they downed Colorado Northwestern Community College 113 to 49 on their home court. The women also are celebrating as they took the win over the Spartans 99 to 60.
Dillon Jones finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds to lead Weber State over Sacramento State 50-48 on Saturday night. Both teams next play Thursday. Weber State visits Idaho while Sacramento State hosts Montana.
Cameron Parker had 17 points, Isaiah Johnson scored 16 and Portland State beat Idaho State 72-65 on Saturday night. Both teams next play Thursday. Portland State hosts Montana State while Idaho State visits Eastern Washington.
Dalton Knecht scored 34 points to spark Northern Colorado to a 73-67 victory over Idaho on Saturday night. Northern Colorado’s next game is Saturday against Northern Arizona on the road, while Idaho hosts Weber State on Thursday.
Elodie Lalotte's team-high 20 points wasn't enough as New Mexico defeated the women of Boise State 76-68, Saturday.
A career-high 28 points and two clutch three-point sequences from Tyson Degenhart were not enough for Boise State men's basketball as the Broncos were knocked off in the final seconds of overtime by New Mexico, 81-79, Friday night on the road.
On to the local high school hardwood, first from Friday night the boys from Carey defeated Glenns Ferry 38 to 36. Elsewhere from the boys games, Oakley defeated Hansen 61 to 46. Valley downed Castleford 56 to 40. Kimberly outlasted Gooding 73 to 49. Jerome took the win over Buhl 55 to 30. Watersprings took the win over Dietrich 67 to 58 and it was Lighthouse Christian for the win over Raft River 68 to 57.
For the girls on Friday, Rockland overpowered Richfield 42 to 29. Hagerman downed Twin Falls Christian Academy 32 to 30. Canyon Ridge overBurley 36 to 27. It was Minico 57 to Twin Falls 55. Mountain Home downed Buhl 50 to 34. Jerome won the game over Wood River 68 to 25 and American Falls defeated Declo 44 to 37.
On Saturday, from Southern Idaho basketball games, first for the boys, Twin Falls for the win over Mountain Home 55 to 41. Skyline defeated Filer 60 to 41. It took 2 overtimes for Watersprings to defeat Hansen 64 to 58. Butte County defeated Murtaugh 58 to 35 and Pocatello outlasted Minico 61 to 43.
For the girls on Saturday, it was Jerome 52 to Filer 41. Raft River defeated Declo 50 to 26, Minico 62 to Wood River’s 29. Lighthouse Christian took the win over Hansen 43 to 28 and Dietrich defeated Butte County 54 to 45.
