The killer or killers who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remain at large, prompting many students to leave the campus despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.  So many students had left the campus in Moscow that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

Hagerman Mayor Alan Jay has resigned.  He stepped down because he said he is temporarily living in Twin Falls while his home is built in Hagerman.

Starting January 2nd the Twin Falls Public Library will no longer charge overdue fines on most materials. Overdue fines currently on accounts will be cleared - however, charges for lost or damaged items will remain.  The library hopes this policy change will encourage community members to rediscover their local library and all the items, programs, and services available to them.

 The Twin Falls Sheriff’s office is reminding residents to be warry of social media posts about missing children.  One is circulating about a missing Buhl boy.  The boy was from Buhl Alabama and was not true.  Police say their departments will post information about missing people and will notify local media.  Those can be trusted. 

The Boise Airport is adding a new service to get people through security quicker.  It’s called CLEAR for expedited security lanes, which is an identity verification program.  Passengers must first enroll in CLEAR plus. Then they can skip the regular security lanes. Passengers will verify their identity with their eyes or fingerprint, and be escorted to baggage screening.

The Greater Idaho movement continued its winning streak in eastern Oregon for the fifth election cycle in a row. The movement aims to convince state legislatures to move the Oregon/Idaho border to make conservative counties of Oregon into counties of Idaho.  The movement has already won elections in 11 of the 15 counties that are proposed to join Idaho.

SPORTS

It’s guaranteed.  If the Boise State Bronco football team gets a win at Wyoming this Saturday they will get a ticket to the Mountain West Championship game.  The Broncos are 6 and 0 in Mountain west play.  Wyoming is 5 and 1 for the season.  If Boise State wins, they would be at least two games clear of Wyoming and Utah State in the Mountain West Mountain Division with one game left.

The college of southern Idaho mens basketball team jumped four spots this week to  be ranked 7th in the NJCAA rankings.  Last week they had 3 win 0 loss and they are 6 wins and 0 loss overall.  CSI is back in action Friday night at home against Wenatchee Valley College. The game is at 7 p.m.  The CSI women’s basketball team, after going 2-1 in Florida last week, are No. 9. in this week’s rankings.  The lady Golden Eagles will be back at home this week. They play Central Wyoming Friday at 5 p.m.

The 2022 1A DI Snake River and 1A DII Sawtooth All-Conference volleyball teams are out.  Lisa Nebeker from Murtaugh is coach of the year.  Ashlee Stanger a junior from Murtaugh is player of the year.  The 1A D2 teams have 2 MVP’s.  They are Hailey Astle from Dietrich and Maddyson Jones from Richfield.  The Offensive player of the year is Fallon O’Barr and the defensive player of the year honors went to Kasey Hendren.  Both are from Richfield.

There is one girls’ basketball game on the schedule today.  Snake River will travel to Kimberly.
