An Idaho School district is considering a state record when it comes to Bond Issues.  The Kuna District is looking at presenting a 300-million dollar bond as part of a long range growth plan.  Meanwhile this fall the Idaho Falls district will float a 250-millon dollar bond November 8th which would then be the second largest in the state. 

Former Caldwell Police Department lieutenant Joseph Hoadley has been indicted by a grand jury on two additional federal charges stemming from an ongoing FBI investigation.  This superseding indictment includes two new charges: tampering with a witness by harassment and tampering with documents..  He will be arraigned at 3 today.

Republican Rep. Russ Fulcher of Idaho, joined 43 other U.S. House members to send a letter to the CEOs of eight major banks expressing opposition to the companies’ established policies of paying travel expenses for employees seeking abortions in other states.  Republican members of Congress said the policies are not only morally wrong but also a violation of fiduciary responsibilities to shareholders.

U.S. officials won’t approve a natural gas pipeline from Idaho to Wyoming until additional environmental studies are completed.  A lawsuit the groups filed in 2020 contended an 18-mile portion of the pipeline would cut a corridor through Caribou-Targhee National Forest and create a road through six Roadless areas.

The Blaine county school district is working to provide a bigger law enforcement presence in all the schools rather than just three.  During a school board meeting, concerns were brought that the majority of the schools in the district are lacking law enforcement presence.

The attorneys general of 10 states, including Idaho’s Lawrence Wasden, are backing a proposed rule by the U.S. Department of Agriculture that is meant to get poultry grower’s fair agreements with meat processors, but they want stronger oversight.  The proposal would require poultry dealers to provide information to producers about the minimum number of chicks they might be given to raise and what the dealers have paid other producers.

College of Southern Idaho assistant women’s basketball coach Joshua Edwards is moving on to a future Big 12 school.  Edwards, who spent eight years at CSI, will join former Burley head coach Amber Whiting’s staff at BYU in a digital analytics/player development role.

If you're a fan of the Idaho Vandals or the NFL, you might see a familiar face on the College of Idaho sidelines during the 2022 football season.  Mike Iupati was an All-Pro NFL offensive lineman, with stops in Seattle, Arizona and San Francisco. It's an addition Yotes' head coach Mike Moroski says adds a level of prestige to the College of Idaho football program.

Here is another look at a local high school football program.  This time we head to Wendell where for the Second season Jon Helmandollar will return as head coach.  Last season the 2-6 record Wendell amassed may not seem impressive. But when you consider that Wendell's program won one game combined in 2019 and '20, the job that Helmandollar did in Year One was impressive.  Five departed seniors helped lay the groundwork for Wendell in 2021.
