In a preliminary report by the NTSB, the plane crash on top of a potato processing plant in Heyburn was caused by the craft striking a smoke stack.  The accident on April 13th claimed the life of Chelsea Brittany Infanger, a 30 year old from Salmon who was delivering UPS packages. 

Idaho’s largest celebration of charitable giving called Idaho Gives wrapped up  with  3-million 656 dollars being raised by 13-thousand 241 donors for 638 organizations.  The Peregrine fund world center for birds of prey picked up the most cash at 139 thousand dollars.  Planned Parenthood picked up the 2nd spot with 115 thousand 364 dollars.

Federal investigators confirmed that the buildup of ice on the wings and other parts of the plane was a key factor in a 2019 crash that killed nine of 12 members of the Hansen Family from Idaho Falls family on board an overloaded small plane near Chamberlain South Dakota.  The crash happened November 30th 2019.  The plane was 100 pounds overweight the report said.

The city of Boise has agreed to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit filed by a former Boise police officer for $400,000.  Federal court documents say the city agreed to settle the lawsuit with Sierrna Berg. 

Homes in 97% of U.S. cities are overvalued, according to Moody's Analytics.  In Boise, Moody’s found homes are 73% overvalued, making it the most overpriced city in the nation. Meanwhile, Interest rates have risen a full 2% in just six months.  The current interest rate is 5.25%.

Idaho Governor Brad Little wants to hear from you about the impacts of meth and fentanyl.  He is bringing his roundtable to Twin Falls.  He will be at CSI’S taylor building at 9:30 Wednesday.

The spring Chinook salmon counts are looking promising for Idaho fisherman this year.  While the numbers are much lower than past decades, 51,480 fish have made it to the first dam on the Columbia River and that is the most since 2016.

SPORTS

From the baseball diamonds on Saturday, Twin Falls took the win over Jerome 9 to 2.  Minico defeated Wood River 18 to 3.  In great Basin Softball Jerome outlasted Twin Falls 15 to 4 and Mountain Home 11 to 3.  On today’s district 2A softball tournament schedule, Wendell travels to Declo at 4.

For CSI, the eagles defeated the Colorado Northwestern Community College 17 to 0 in the first softball game.  Then again defeated Colorado in the second game 20 to 0.  For the Eagles Baseball, CSI defeated Colorado 11 to 0. 

Boise State knocked off New Mexico 7-2, Sunday to complete a three-game sweep and extend its winning streak to nine games.  The Broncos swept a three-game series for the sixth time overall and fifth in conference, both school records.

Boise State men's basketball head coach Leon Rice has been named an assistant coach for the USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team, which will compete this summer at the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Men's Championship, the organization announced Friday.  Rice is joined on the staff by Colorado head coach Tad Boyle and Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton Jr., who will serve as head coach and assistant coach of the U18 squad, respectively.
